Picklewho

Ladies, gentlemen and dogs. Welcome to my mom's second favorite Pickleball news source as she still refuses to tell me which is the first one.

I have fresh news for you today if you wanna keep up to date with everything related to God’s favorite sport.

  • The old and young generations now have something to agree on: Pickleball rocks!

  • Is pickleball dangerous? Mmmm

Pickleball without Pickleball

From playing sports and shooting the enemy to having financial stability and a happy marriage, everything is possible on VR. We already talked once about Playin’ Pickleball, but we encountered a review by Jon Jaehnig and we wanted to bring the theme back.

Why? ‘Cause he has never played actual pickleball before, meaning his first time was virtual (and we’ve all been there). Is it the same experience to play on the Quest 2? Of course not. Nevertheless, it’s nice to see that the game gives users a proper understanding of the physics and the movement within the sport.

It also seems a nice option for people who are not fit enough to play as often as they’d like or for the ones who want to play with our 92 year old grandma without breaking her hip. Again.

VR is advancing and rumors say that Meta plans will soon include neighbors’ complaints to make the game more realistic.

Pickleball is giving seniors their youth back

It’s true! After playing pickleball grandma even gained her mustache back!

Ok, that’s not true. They are not getting younger, but they are becoming more active and members of the Cope Park community in Juneau know it. “If you build it, they come” seems to be their new motto regarding senior citizens and pickleball courts.

The program approved the construction of new fields because the seniors themselves are demanding more courts.

Every man wants to live a long life and play Pickleball until his body can't take it anymore, so I hope more cities follow the example.

I just want my retirement as quickly as possible.

Pickleball might have to include a safety warning

Ever look in front of the mirror and think "am I really in shape?"? If you are asking that question, the answer is “hahaha no”. Or at least that’s what my mom, ex and that three-legged mall guard told me. So I got into pickleball.

This sport is terrific exercise. Still, few see the danger of pushing the body beyond its limits. That’s what happened to Joe Keller, a regular Pickleball player who collapsed after suffering a cardiac arrest at the end of a friendly game.

There were two people (only two in an entire facility) who were able to help Joe. That's why players are now gathering to watch CPR classes to prepare themselves for any hypothetical future incidents.

I know I usually make a joke about news like this, but this is not the case. So, from the bottom of my heart (couldn't help it) I beg: Take care of yourselves and learn CPR. That way we can all keep loving Pickleball.
