danger zone

Hello, everyone! This is Picklewho, the #1 pickleball website, and occasional nutrition-advice blog. On today’s advice, please remember that two cups of dark coffee with sugar it’s not breakfast. But lunch.

(I’m joking, please serve yourself an omelet).

And here’s the news!

CBS to broadcast the PPA Tour

CBS, or as I like to call it, The Big Bang Theory reruns channel, signed a deal to broadcast the PPA Tour. The deal covers more than 30 hours of pickleball content across every single one of CBS’ platforms: CBS channel, CBS Sports Network, and Paramount+, the streaming service people pay only for South Park and The Office.

Coverage will start on April 21 with the PPA Tour’s Newport Beach Doubles Shootout.

MLP finds defective paddles in Daytona tournament

The MLP reveals the results of their paddle tests at the Daytona Beach tournament and the results are interesting: six players submitted paddles with an average deflection force thirty percent (30%) below the League standard. Six players played with defective or delaminated paddles, unbeknown to them… Or not.

Though we are not sure who they are, the PPL privately contacted all players to take procedures that guarantee the game’s fairness. The funny thing is that the results came one month after the tournament already finished, so just like my ex, they are now recalling things that happened in the past.

I’m sorry, Helen.

Pickleball pilot to break Guinness World Record

Okay, I know what you're thinking… But sadly, the pilot is not going to play pickleball in the air. I’m upset too.

Florida-based pilot Dean Matt is set to break an equally challenging record: he’ll try to play pickleball in each of the lower 48 states in less than 48 days. Does it help to have your own plane to move around? Yes. Could an Uber-pilot do it? Oh boy, no.

Matt will play against people of all backgrounds: amateurs, PPA pros, 94-year-olds and hey, he might even challenge you.
