Plus: Pickleball legends host new teaching clinics

Not the drink

What’s up, everybody? Welcome to PickleWho, the #1 pickleball blog on the internet.

You feel that? Mercury retrograde is over! You probably weren’t expecting an astrology reference, but guess what? I’m allowed to style my fringe and explore new things. Am I having a midlife crisis? Yes. Are people judging me for that? Of course. Wanna help? Please send coffee. And love. Mostly coffee.

By the way, here’s the news!

Prime Video to broadcast a real sport

Prime Video, the platform we thought to be Netflix’s competition but everyone bailed out after Fleabag, announced a multiyear deal with the PPA Tour.

The agreement starts on May 18th with the Acrytech Atlanta Open coverage. Then it’ll include exclusive broadcasting rights for four PPA tournaments –including the 2023-24 PPA Tour World Championship Series–, live commentary, and an exclusive pickleball series starring Seth Rogen as Ben Johns.

Okay, that one was a joke. It’d make for an interesting casting, though. If anyone knows some Amazon execs, tell them I have ideas.

A pickleball teaching clinic with two legends

No one saw it coming, yet it finally happened Cincinnati officially became a nice city to live in. Who’s to blame? Pickleball legends and #1 senior players Rick Witsken and Beth Bellamy, who hosted a teaching clinic in Aces Pickleball Kitchen.

The clinic consisted of open-play games where the pros offered guidance on how to improve skills and acquire useful strategies to win matches.

Should I even consider moving to Ohio? Oh God.

Jardim And Todd: MVPs of the Vlasic Classic

The PPA Vlasic Classic saw the ascend of Parris Todd and Simone Jardim to pickleball Olympus after the duo crowned their FIFTH CONSECUTIVE WOMEN’S PRO DOUBLES GOLD MEDAL.

Yes, you read that well. The duo is five-for-five this year, and this weekend’s win was absolutely well-deserved. They even had to beat the #2 seeded team of Susannah Barr and Megan Fudge in two separate matches: the winner’s bracket final and the gold medal match.

Getting absolutely annihilated by a team is something, but doing it twice is something I don’t want to experience. Yet I do, quite often. What I’m trying to say is…

My condolences to Barr and Fudge’s therapist.
