Not even jail can’t stop Pickleball

Picklewho

Holaaa!

See? I speak French.

What's up, dear folks? The wait is over, here are the freshest Pickleball news you can find out there in the internet:

  • A new court is gaining popularity… Prison!

  • Meet Pickleheads

  • Ever heard of The Picklr before? Well, I bet you will

Not even jail can’t stop Pickleball!

You can escape from jail, though. My cousin Lucas did it in 2007 and I probably shouldn’t have said that, alright the FBI is already knocking. Be right back.

(one interrogation later)

Today's story is about Roger BelAir, a 64 year old banker and pickleball aficionado with a cool name and a cooler initiative: visiting every jail on his way with just one mission: assembling a criminal organization named…Hold on. That was Lucas.

(another interrogation later)

BelAir is teaching the beautiful art of Pickleball to inmates all over the country because "if we can make them better people on the inside, it's better for all of us once they get back outside."

After hearing that quote from BelAir, several inmates felt pretty moved and in tears some of them exclaimed: that's what she said.

Pickleball players enjoy a new online platform

And I swear that I'm not talking about adult movies this time.

At the moment, 36 million people in the US practice pickleball. The remaining 300 million also practice pickleball, but they do it in secret. This poses one issue that’s tougher than global warming and the recession combined: there are too many players for the available courts.

But every cloud has a hydrogen silver lining. For us, that’s Pickleheads, an online platform to find nearby courts, talk to other players and even arrange matches.

I must say, though, that they don’t let you arrange dates with other pickleball enthusiasts and you might get banned if you continuously try to do so.

Happened to a friend.

The Picklr announces plans to take over the nation

I must admit I too thought The Picklr was a super villain who swore revenge on all pickleball players. One quick research later, I confirmed it.

But then I stopped reading blogs with dark backgrounds and red letters and found out The Picklr is just one of the biggest indoor Pickleball facilities in the country. And after 7 locations all over Utah and Colorado, they are going national.

The company aims for more than 800 indoor cours in the next 3 years and wants the franchise to reach so-called “states” like "Nebraska" and "Connecticut".

Ha! Nice try, government.
