Nightclubs plus Pickleball equals Future

Ever been bored at a nightclub and thought “man, this party needs some Pickleball!”?

Hello everyone! This is Picklewho, your go-to source for Pickleball news. Think of us as The New York Times of the Pickleball world, minus the threat of legal action for making comparisons. Btw, Mr. and Mrs. Times, we really can’t afford a lawsuit now. Forget the analogy! Ugh.

So, what’s been going on in the Pickleball world lately? Let’s find out!

  • Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters won effortlessly at the Desert Ridge Open

  • Are nightclubs the future of Pickleball?!

  • U.S. cities HAVE TO pick up with Pickleball's rapid growth

Johns and Waters crush Desert Ridge Open

When it comes to professional Pickleball, we all know that Ben Johns and Anna Leigh Waters are the Leo Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo of the game… Minus the bank balance, plus the everlasting talent.

So, what should we expect when both of them play the same tournament? The obvious.

Johns swept the competition to win the Gold Medal in the Men’s Pro Singles. Top candidates like Federico Staksrud and Julian Arnold couldn’t keep up with his skill and good looks.

Then, Waters won the Women’s Pro Singles against Catherine Parenteau and Lea Jansen. With an undefeated season she might need an assistant to carry all her gold medals. I volunteer.

At last came real magic. Johns and Waters joined efforts to play the Mixed Pro Doubles… And the rest is history. Triple crown for both in Phoenix.

I hope their parents are proud.

Nightclubs + Pickleball = Future?!

Oh boy, we hope so.

Ever been bored at a nightclub and thought “man, this party needs some Pickleball!”?

If you said “no”, we’ll just ignore you to focus on the overwhelming “yes!”. And it’s happening!

Say whaaaat?!

Yes, yes, yes, yes. XGLOsive, a Florida-based company, is turning Pickleball courts into full EDM experiences with music, fluorescent visuals, and backlights. We don’t know if they’ll include alcohol in the experience, but if they do, brace yourselves. Funky matches are coming.

U.S. cities evolve to welcome Pickleball

“The key to progress is Pickleball”, said Abraham Lincoln in his dying breath. 200 years later, numerous cities in the U.S. are finally paying attention, leaving the Paleolithic to embrace the Pickleball era.

For instance, to ensure the growth and longevity of Pickleball, Minneapolis allocated an annual budget of $11 million (damn!) for the sport. They will build more courts, reduce the noise with buffer zones, and increase accessibility for players.

Other states are following such path, so yes, surprisingly, the government is doing something!
