MLP Daytona Beach is finally over!

The MLP Daytona Beach was the best tournament of the year as it combined the three things I love the most: pickleball, crushing action, and Miami Beach. For all the people who say they prefer the mountain or the desert over the beach: stop lying to yourselves.

As for the Premier Division, only one team made it through the group stage undefeated: the California BLQK Bears squad. They even managed to advance to the playoffs on top of the Seattle Pioneers, the team led by Ben Johns. That’s harder than digesting spicy Mexican food as a white person.

The Bears and the Pioneers met again in the finals, though this time the story was different. Well, it was actually more of the same. Ben Johns and Etta Wright combined strengths to win 21-14 over Federico Staksrud and Andrea Koop, securing John’s first MLP title since 2021.

Being labeled “the most pickleball-obsessed city in the U.S.” has to be an honor greater than seeing your son graduate from med school. If you are wondering, mine graduated from DJ school.

Overland Park, in Kansas! Here’s how they know: the website Offers.bet interviewed over 1000 people and conducted a survey which analyzed more than 921 search terms related to pickleball, including “pickleball courts near me” and “how pickleball saved my life”. That’s mostly mine.

This ship has a professional pickleball court on its deck

Okay, this news is 100% true: AmaMagna, a ship owned by traveling company AmaWaterways, is featuring a professional-size pickleball court on its sundeck. In the meanwhile, I’m still wondering if it’s a good idea to have a small net in my backyard.

That’s a lie, I don’t wonder. Of course it’s a great idea.

The only downside to this court, is that games can only be played while the ship is docked. So, where’s the emotion of having your ball potentially stolen by a dolphin in the middle of the sea? Let’s all send our official complaints to make a change.
