Lost one point for stepping too hard

Hi, hello and howdy to y'all! (Just met a Texan exchange student)

Welcome to Picklewho, the only place where you can find both the latest Pickleball news and the love of your life. In this case, the love of your life is Pickleball and that’s more than we could ever ask for. Now, let’s go straight to the news!

  •   Pickleball memberships increased by 30% and only 29% of those are mine!

  • (Unbelievable) This is an actual Pickleball rule

  •   "Pickleball is not a real sport" haters claim

Pickleball new favorite sport

Pickleball is taking over America, baby!

According to our lords at USA Pickleball, Pickleball 2022 growth can only be compared to Top Gun. Ok, we made that direct comparison, sorry, Maverick rocks…but it’s also kinda true. Though Pickleball has been around for almost 6 decades, the number of players, courts, tournaments, paddles and ambassadors continues to increase. Heck, only Pickleball membership grew 30% in a year. Pickleball is bigger than inflation!

There seems to be no exact reason behind the rise in popularity besides the support of stars like Brady and Lebron and the fact that it’s the greatest sport ever invented. Yet we do know one thing: Unlike your ex, Pickleball was there when we needed it the most and, unlike your future ex, Pickleball is here to stay.

How is this an actual rule in Pickleball?

The world’s most beautiful sport also has a certain…weirdness to it. In a recent match, Pickleball star James Ignatowich lost one point for stepping too hard.

Sounds strange? Yeap? Is it a real rule? Yeap? "Aggressive Stepping" could allegedly cost you a point because it can distract your opponent.

Is it a good rule? Oh, boy…no! But if anyone has spent countless nights daydreaming about every possible way to enhance paintball, that’s Lebron. And us. So, we propose three new rules to make the sport even more fair against distractions:

  1. Players can't move their feet during the game

2. Players can only breathe through the nose. Everything else is too distracting.

3. All players and attendees should wear a ninja suit.

Haters keeps claiming Pickleball is not a real sport

Haters keeps claiming Pickleball is not a real sport

The whole "Aggressive Stepping" incident propelled an avalanche of Pickleball haters (and potential flat-earthers) to comment on social media that it will be a real sport.

Let us be clear, here at Picklewho we respect everyone's opinions. Except yours, James Franco, but let’s not get into that.

Nevertheless, claiming this sport is not real is refusing to see how much Pickleball has grown and evolved. And how much it will continue to do so.

For example, if you lost a match in 1967 you got a $200 fine and a stab in the leg…

Ok, that's not true, but the point is that we can't judge a sport by its rules (or by its name). We can only judge it by its potential for greatness.

And Pickleball has that already covered.
