crypto paddle?

What’s up, everyone? Welcome to PickleWho, the #1 pickleball news blog on the internet. If we were a movie, we’d hold a 100% Certified Fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, a 5-star rating on IMDB, and a box office of $3. Luckily, we’re here for the art, not for the money.

Here’s the news!

  • Special Olympics Michigan partners with USA Pickleball

Special Olympics Michigan embraces pickleball

To close National Pickleball Month, USA Pickleball is gifting a brand-new pickleball court to Special Olympics Michigan. And yes, I know how gifting sounds but it’s still the correct word.

This act is no surprise, as USA Pickleball has been working with Special Olympics North America since 2018. Eventually, the goal is to get pickleball to the actual competition because it would mean a new ground to join as a nation in our effort to beat Russia.

Bitcoin will sponsor a pickleball tournament

Yes, players who also happen to be cryptobros can finally reach nirvana, as the BTC 23 Open Pickleball Event is set to kick off in Miami Beach on May 18th.

While we wait for more details –if the prize is a couple Bitcoins I’ll take a flight to Miami ASAP–...unless it continues to drop. I won’t really trust Satoshi Nakamoto until he makes a live appearance. I hope as one of the players.

A new pickleball Guinness World Record is on its way.

Though we’ve already witnessed crazy records like “Largest pickleball paddle”, “Longest game ever”, or “Most self-absorbed pickleball blog on the Internet” (guilty), we’re here for a new one: Dean Matt and Shannon Yeager –not associated with the Attack Titan– just began their journey to play 48 matches in 48 states. And yes, including Delaware.

You can find the full list of games and locations here as well as a live tracker of the duo's flights. Great news for pickleball, even better news for stalkers.

I’m thrilled.
